Academic Interests:

Exploring novel molecular methods to assist wildlife management. I worked with ODFW and USFS to create a database of mitogenomes for the development of an eDNA monitoring program for Oregon's freshwater vertebrates. I am also part of a team developing an RNAi control to combat Pseudogymnoascus destructans, the pathogenic fungus causing white-nose syndrome in North American bats. In addition, I am working with other members of the Levi Lab to develop a SNP panel to identify wild Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao cyanoptera) individuals in Guatemala to determine the survival rate of captive raised macaws post-release.
