Iliak Harmsen Saa

Iliak is a PhD student whose experiment consists in a plot trial at Lewis Brown Farm Turf Facility in Corvallis to evaluate different plant species for their compatibility within turf systems, in combination with different establishment methods. We’ll evaluate different methods for establishing honeybee pasture plants in an existing turf base (including methods compatible with Certified Organic) and second, we will evaluate different plant species for their ability to persist and spread over time in combination with these establishment methods. The establishment treatments and forage plant species with the highest honey bee visits and that produce the most nectar and pollen per acre will be considered the most promising for future on-farm field studies
