Research Areas: Fisheries genetics and genomics, fisheries conservation and management.
My lab conducts fisheries genetics research to address the science and management needs of the Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Our research spans both the freshwater and marine environments focusing on species of ecological, evolutionary, or economic importance.

Analyzing thousands of genetic markers in albacore tuna from the Pacific Ocean, researchers at Oregon State University have learned that just seven dozen of those markers are needed to determine which side of the equator a fish comes from.
