I study Pacific lamprey freshwater ecology
The research program is focused on designing and implementing projects that will further Pacific lamprey conservation in the Northwest. Current projects include a genetic parentage study on spawning lamprey in the Lukiamute River and a larval lamprey study in the Santiam Basin. The study in the Santiam Basin is concerned with how habitat characteristics and small obstructions (e.g., culverts, diversions) influence the detection, distribution, and abundance of larval lamprey in wadeable streams.
