BROOK STICKLEBACK
David Noakes
Latin name:Â Culaea inconstans
Brook stickleback are a widespread freshwater fish species in eastern North America. Field studies have demonstrated that this species (and a number of other native fishes) are adversely affected by low head barrier dams used for control of migration of invasive sea lamprey. Recommendations for sustaining this species include placement and operation of low head barrier dams to minimize impacts on native fishes.
